The Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) on Saturday formally withdrew its students' protest following India government's acceptance of the movement's major demands.

The press conference was attended by Union Ministers J P Nadda and Jitendra Singh and CJP spokespersons Ashutosh Ranka and Saurav Das.

The call-off was formally announced with immediate effect by CJP spokesperson Saurav Das during the joint press conference held with India government.

The CJP delegation urged protesters to peacefully vacate the Jantar Mantar protest premises as the government accepted all the major demands after 36 days of protest.

The significant announcement comes shortly after the resignation of Dharmendra Pradhan from the post of Union Education Minister, one of the key demands of the protesters.

It was also announced during the joint press conference that the government will quash all FIRs registered against the protesters and assured that no punitive action will be taken in the future.

Even though no final decision has been taken regarding the CJP demand for ₹1 crore compensation, the government stated that maximum amount that can be awarded within rules and regulations will be given to the families of students who took their lives following NEET paper leak.

During the conference, CJP also stated that the next round of talks with the government will be held in four weeks.

The CJP, founded by Abhijeet Dipke as a satirical social media page in response to Chief Justice of India Surya Kant's remarks, has now evolved into a movement led by students seeking educational reforms in India.

The CJP has led a sit-in at Jantar Mantar since June 20, demanding accountability over the NEET-UG 2026 paper leak and irregularities in the CBSE's on-screen marking process, besides seeking wider reforms in the conduct of public examinations.

The agitation has galvanised thousands of students in protests across the country and has been supported by major opposition parties.
